Meet Misza
Born in Ukraine in 2022, Misza never experienced the life a tiger should.
Taken from his mother as a young cub and sold into private ownership, he was hand-raised on an unsuitable milk formula that caused permanent damage to his growing body. Thankfully, authorities intervened and Misza was rescued before his future was lost.
Today, he lives at Natuurhulpcentrum Wildlife Rescue Centre in Belgium, where he continues to receive the specialised care he needs. Despite everything he has endured, Misza remains a young tiger with a lifetime ahead of him.
Meet Yasmine
Yasmine's story is very different. Born in 2017, she spent years performing in a travelling circus in France.
When her performing days finally came to an end, she was given the chance to retire and begin a completely different life at Natuurhulpcentrum.
There, her keepers discovered something wonderful. Yasmine doesn't seek attention.
She doesn't want to share her space. She simply loves peace, quiet and the freedom to be herself. For the first time in her life, she was allowed to choose.

Moving two adult tigers halfway across the world is an extraordinary undertaking. Every step of the journey must be carefully planned to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Specialised transport crates. Veterinary examinations. International permits. Health certificates. Professional wildlife transport teams. Airline logistics. Months of planning.

Following the devastating Garden Route storms in May, our sanctuaries have faced unexpected financial challenges as we continue repairing damage while caring for the hundreds of rescued animals already in our care.
